Poison Ivy Collection

Spinning off my attraction to Venus flytraps, I decided to cosplay as a character that shares my love for and carnivorous plants. What started out as a Halloween costume, became a full cosplay project with props and a hand-sculpted corset. Honorable mentions to foam clay and Uma Thurman’s iteration of Poison Ivy, this is a project I am most excited to see come to life.

The process will be documented on my social media platforms (@myartcana).

Venus collection

Flytraps are the core of the brand and are what ground me when I feel too overwhelmed with all of the ideas running through my head. I was always told you needed to have one type of art that defined you and not to dabble in too many areas. Venus flytraps allow the balance between focusing on my brand and allowing my creativity to roam free.

Burton collection

Only the beginning of an ongoing homage, the world of Tim Burton is one of the most effortless paths to explore for me. A design style so unique offers endless ideas for this collection. Starting with the ring holder on the right, I hope to take this into the field of set design for stop motion films.

Fabric collection

When I stared at my sewing machine in frustration because I wanted to make fabric pieces but felt the machine was too intimidating, one of my most frequently watched YouTubers showed me that hand-sewing is a great place to start, and even if you’re starting small, you’re starting somewhere. These fabric pieces are the gateway into my journey into sewing.

Wand collection

One of my biggest sources of inspiration is cosplayers. I always thought I just really liked Halloween, but when I found a community of artists that took the costumes to a whole new level and dressed up year-round, I began making my own props, starting with the Wizarding World wands.

Stranger Things collection

Landing as my favorite show, the world of Stranger Things brings the nostalgic realm of Dungeons and Dragons, inter-dimensional monsters, and sci-fi mysteries. The Hellfire sneakers were one of the first pieces I made when beginning this journey, and the dice tray has some of the smallest, detail-oriented sculptures I’ve made.
